Lorraine spent many years as an illustrator producing artwork for advertising agencies, greeting card publishers and magazine companies but since settling in France in 2005 she has concentrated predominantly on her fine art career.

Skilled at capturing a likeness, Lorraine accepts commissions for portraits in a variety of media including oil, pencil, pastel or charcoal. Once commissioned, she prefers to meet the subject and take her own reference photographs but where this is not possible it is helpful to have a selection of images and as much information as possible on the subject’s character in order to portray more than just a copy of a photograph.
